Ingredients:
- 1 slice sourdough bread
- 1 tin sardines
- butter
- dijon mustard
- chives
- capers (optional)
Ingredients are subject to availability at local stores. Unavailable items will be automatically substituted at best-effort.
Directions
- Slice sourdough bread and butter one side.
- Put your bread in the toaster and toast until golden.
- While bread is toasting, press a paper towel over the can of sardines to absorb excess oil or water.
- Take your bread out of the toaster and butter the side again, then spread dijon mustard on top.
- Chop up your chives and press the buttered side of bread into the chives until coated to your liking.
- Place the sardines on the bread.
- If desired, chop and add capers as well.
