Step 1: Roast the Potatoes
Prep the Potatoes
- Preheat your oven to 425°F.
- Wash the potatoes thoroughly.
- Cut them into 1-inch cubes.
Season
Place the potatoes in a large mixing bowl and add:
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
Toss until every piece is evenly coated.
Roast
Spread the potatoes onto a baking sheet in a single layer.
Bake for 30–35 minutes, stirring once halfway through cooking.
Potatoes are done when they’re golden brown, crispy on the outside, and tender inside.
Step 2: Prep the Green Beans
Wash & Trim
- Wash the green beans thoroughly.
- Trim off the stem ends.
Set aside until ready to cook.
Step 3: Prep the Steak
Bring to Room Temperature
Remove the steak from the refrigerator 15–20 minutes before cooking.
Pat dry thoroughly with paper towels.
Dry steak develops a much better sear.
Cut & Season
Cut the steak into bite-sized cubes.
Season with:
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon pepper
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- ½ teaspoon onion powder
Toss until evenly coated.
Step 4: Prep the Shrimp
Thaw (If Using Frozen)
Place shrimp in a bowl of cold water for 15–20 minutes.
Drain and pat dry thoroughly.
Season
Lightly season with:
- Salt
- Pepper
- Paprika
Set aside.
Step 5: Cook the Green Beans
Sauté
While the potatoes roast:
- Heat 1 teaspoon olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
- Add the green beans.
- Cook for 5–7 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Green beans should be bright green and slightly tender while still having a little bite.
Transfer to a bowl and set aside.
Step 6: Cook the Steak
Sear
Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat.
Add:
- 1 tablespoon butter
Once hot, add the steak in a single layer.
Do not overcrowd the pan.
Cook:
- 2–3 minutes on the first side
- Flip
- 2–3 minutes on the second side
This will produce a medium doneness for most steak cubes.
Transfer steak to a plate.
Step 7: Cook the Shrimp
Using the same skillet:
Add:
- 1 tablespoon butter
Add the shrimp and cook:
- 2 minutes on the first side
- Flip
- 1–2 minutes on the second side
Shrimp are done when they’re pink and opaque.
Remove and set aside.
Step 8: Make the Garlic Butter Sauce
Build the Sauce
Reduce heat to medium.
Add:
- Remaining 1 tablespoon butter
- 6 cloves garlic, minced
- ½ teaspoon Italian seasoning
Cook for 30–60 seconds, stirring constantly.
Do not let the garlic burn.
Finish the Surf & Turf
Return the steak and shrimp to the skillet.
Toss everything together until coated in the garlic butter sauce.
Cook for 1 additional minute.
Remove from heat.
Step 9: Assemble the Plates
Divide everything among 4 servings.
Each plate should include:
- Roasted potatoes
- Green beans
- Steak bites
- Garlic butter shrimp
Finish by spooning any extra garlic butter sauce from the skillet over the top.
