A classic, refreshing lemon-lime electrolyte drink that’s naturally hydrating and packed with real citrus flavor. Skip the artificial dyes and processed sugars—this clean, vibrant homemade Gatorade will keep you refreshed and replenished.
Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 cups coconut water
- 1 1/4 cups aloe vera juice (or decaf green tea or filtered water)
- 1/2 lemon (peeled)
- 1/2 lime (peeled)
- 1/4 - 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tbsp honey (or maple syrup)
- ice (for serving)
- lemon (sliced for garnish)
- lime (sliced for garnish)
Ingredients are subject to availability at local stores. Unavailable items will be automatically substituted at best-effort.
Directions
- Add all ingredients to a blender: 1½ cups coconut water, 1¼ cups aloe vera juice (or substitute with decaf green tea or filtered water), ½ lemon peeled (or use juice only—using the whole peeled lemon gives a stronger flavor and more vibrant color), ½ lime peeled, ¼ to ½ teaspoon salt, and 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup.
- Blend on high speed for 30-45 seconds until completely smooth and the mixture is a rich, **opaque pale yellow-green** color.
- Pour through a fine mesh strainer over a glass filled with ice to remove any remaining pulp.
- Garnish with fresh lemon and lime slices on the rim.
- Stir and enjoy immediately!
