A quick and easy chicken teriyaki made with a surprising twist—BBQ sauce! Marinated chicken thighs are seared until charred, then tossed in a sticky, thick BBQ glaze. Ready in 30 minutes and perfect over rice or noodles.
Ingredients:
- chicken thighs
- 1/2 cup Bachan's original BBQ sauce (or any BBQ sauce you want)
- 1 tsp pepper
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 5 tbsp Bachan's original BBQ sauce (for glazing, or any BBQ sauce you want)
- oil (for cooking)
Ingredients are subject to availability at local stores. Unavailable items will be automatically substituted at best-effort.
Directions
- Cut chicken thighs into strips.
- In a bowl, marinate the chicken strips with ½ cup BBQ sauce and 1 tsp black pepper. Let sit for at least 10 minutes.
- Right before cooking, add 1 tbsp corn starch to the marinated chicken and mix well to coat.
- Heat oil in a large pan over high heat. Add the chicken in a single layer, being careful not to overcrowd the pan. Cook until charred on both sides, working in batches if needed. Remove chicken from the pan and set aside.
- Once all the chicken is cooked, reduce the heat to low. Return all the chicken to the pan.
- Add 5 tbsp BBQ sauce to the pan and stir to coat the chicken evenly.
- Let the sauce thicken for 1-2 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Serve hot over rice or noodles. Garnish with sesame seeds or green onions if desired. Enjoy!
