Superfoods in This Recipe

  • Cherries: Cherries contain vitamin C, fiber, potassium, and antioxidant plant compounds called anthocyanins. These nutrients help support normal immune function, digestion, and overall cellular health.
  • Limes: Limes provide vitamin C and naturally occurring citrus compounds. Vitamin C supports normal immune function and helps the body absorb iron from plant-based foods.
  • Lime zest: The zest contains concentrated citrus oils and flavonoid plant compounds. It adds fresh flavor while contributing small amounts of antioxidants without requiring additional sugar.

Directions

  1. Pit the FRESH CHERRIES and place them in a high-powered blender.
  2. Peel and segment the LIMES, carefully removing as much of the bitter white pith as possible.
  3. Add the lime segments, LIME ZEST, and 2 cups of the WATER to the blender.
  4. Blend until the cherries and limes are completely broken down and the mixture is smooth.
  5. Pour the blended fruit mixture through a fine-mesh strainer into a large pitcher.
  6. Press the mixture gently with a spoon or spatula to extract as much liquid as possible. Skip straining for a thicker drink with more fruit pulp.
  7. Add the SWEETENED CONDENSED MILK to the strained fruit mixture.
  8. Stir thoroughly until the condensed milk is fully incorporated and the limeade has an even creamy pink color.
  9. Add 1½ cups of the additional WATER and stir well.
  10. Taste the limeade and add up to another ½ cup of water until it reaches your preferred sweetness and consistency.
  11. Fill individual serving glasses with ICE.
  12. Pour the Creamy Cherry Limeade over the ice and garnish with additional FRESH CHERRIES or LIME SLICES, if desired.
  13. Keep the remaining limeade chilled and avoid adding ice directly to the pitcher so the drink does not become diluted as it sits.

Recipe Notes

  • Remove the white pith from the limes because it may make the drink taste bitter.
  • Adjust the additional water gradually. Juicier fruit may require less dilution.
  • Strain the blended mixture for a silky drink, or leave the pulp for a thicker, more rustic texture.
  • Serve the limeade over ice in individual glasses instead of adding ice directly to the pitcher.
