Rich, creamy, and better than any restaurant version! This homemade fettuccine Alfredo comes together in minutes with just a handful of simple ingredients. Silky smooth sauce coats every strand of pasta for the ultimate comfort food dinner.
Ingredients:
- 1 lb egg fettuccine
- 1 stick salted butter
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 2 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan
- salt (to taste)
- pepper (to taste)
Ingredients are subject to availability at local stores. Unavailable items will be automatically substituted at best-effort.
Directions
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook egg fettuccine according to package directions until al dente. Reserve about 1 cup of pasta water before draining, just in case you need it to loosen the sauce.
- In a large skillet, melt salted butter over medium-low heat. Add minced garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute.
- Pour in heavy cream, stirring frequently until warmed through.
- Reduce heat to low. Gradually add freshly grated Parmesan cheese, stirring constantly until melted and smooth. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Toss the cooked fettuccine into the sauce until fully coated. If the sauce is too thick, add reserved pasta water a little at a time until desired consistency is reached.
- Serve immediately, garnished with extra Parmesan cheese. Enjoy!
