Directions

  1. Slice a thick slice of bread (about 1½-2 inches thick).
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, sugar, heavy whipping cream until smooth and well combined.
  3. Submerge the thick bread slice into the custard mixture, allowing it to soak for 30-60 seconds per side until fully saturated.
  4. Heat a pan over medium heat and add butter. Fry the soaked bread until golden brown on both sides.
  5. Transfer the pan to a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) and bake for 5-7 minutes to finish cooking the center.
