These smothered turkey wings are baked until tender, seasoned with bold Cajun-inspired spices, and finished in a rich homemade gravy with onions, bell peppers, butter, and chicken stock.

Directions

Season the Turkey Wings

  1. Add the turkey wings to a large mixing bowl.
  2. Coat with canola oil.
  3. Season with smoked paprika, dried thyme, salt, Cajun seasoning, garlic powder, and cayenne pepper.
  4. Add the sweet onion and bell peppers, then toss until everything is well coated.

Make the Gravy Base

  1. Whisk together the chicken stock and flour until smooth.
  2. Place the seasoned turkey wings, onions, and peppers into a baking dish.
  3. Pour the gravy base into the dish.
  4. Add pieces of butter over the turkey wings.

Bake and Smother

  1. Cover and bake at 400°F for 1 hour.
  2. Uncover and bake for another 40 minutes, spooning the gravy over the wings as they cook.
  3. Serve hot with the gravy spooned over the top.
