A surprisingly refreshing and tangy electrolyte drink for pickle lovers! This unique blend combines the briny goodness of pickle juice with coconut water and fresh dill for a savory-sour hydrator that’s perfect for post-workout recovery or just satisfying that pickle craving.
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup dill pickle juice
- 2 large dill pickle spears (plus more for garnish)
- 1/3 cup coconut water
- 1 cup water (cold, filtered)
- 2-3 tbsp lemon juice (or lime juice)
- 1 pinch salt (optional - pickle already contains salt)
- 1-2 dill sprigs (fresh, plus more for garnish)
- 1-2 tbsp honey (or maple syrup)
- a few drops apple cider vinegar (for extra tang)
- ice
Ingredients are subject to availability at local stores. Unavailable items will be automatically substituted at best-effort.
Directions
- Add all ingredients to a blender: ½ cup dill pickle juice, 2 large dill pickle spears (use a clean brand like Grillo’s with no artificial dyes), ⅓ cup coconut water, 1 cup cold filtered water, 2–3 tablespoons lemon or lime juice, a pinch of salt (optional—pickle juice already has plenty), 1–2 fresh dill sprigs, optional 1–2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup if you’d like it sweeter, and optional a few drops of apple cider vinegar for extra tang.
- Blend on high speed for 30-45 seconds until completely smooth and the mixture is a **pale, opaque greenish-white** color with visible flecks of fresh dill throughout.
- Strain over ice for a smoother finish, or serve as-is for a more rustic texture with dill flecks.
- Garnish with a fresh dill pickle spear and a sprig of fresh dill.
- Enjoy immediately—it’s surprisingly delicious!
