Lunch Box Tips

Use Dinner Leftovers: Save a small cooked hamburger patty from dinner so the main part of tomorrow’s school lunch is already prepared.

Start the Night Before: Refrigerate the cooked hamburger promptly after dinner and prep the carrots and plum ahead when helpful. In the morning, simply assemble the slider and finish packing the lunch.

Keep the Chips Crisp: Pack the tortilla chips in a dry section of the lunch container away from the plum and other moist ingredients.

Keep the Burger Simple: The leftover hamburger patty and slider bun are enough for the basic lunch. Add your child’s usual burger toppings only if desired.

Make It Easier to Eat: Slice the carrots, plum, and slider as appropriate for your child’s age and eating abilities.

Pack It Safely: Keep the cooked hamburger and cut produce refrigerated until packing, then use an ice pack to keep the lunch chilled until lunchtime.
