Ingredients:
- 2 triangles refrigerated crescent roll dough
- 2 tsp creamy peanut butter
- 1/2 small banana (cut lengthwise into 2 pieces)
- 1 tsp butter (melted, optional)
- small pinch cinnamon sugar (optional)
Ingredients are subject to availability at local stores. Unavailable items will be automatically substituted at best-effort.
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F and line a small baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Separate 2 crescent dough triangles and lay them flat on the prepared work surface.
- Spread about 1 teaspoon of creamy peanut butter over each crescent triangle, leaving a small border around the edges.
- Place one piece of banana near the wide end of each crescent triangle.
- Roll each crescent triangle from the wide end toward the point, keeping the banana tucked inside without excessively stretching the dough.
- If desired, lightly brush the tops with melted butter and sprinkle with a small amount of cinnamon sugar.
- Place the roll-ups on the prepared baking sheet with a little space between them.
- Bake at 375°F for 12 minutes, or until the crescent dough is cooked through and naturally golden.
- Allow the roll-ups to cool before serving or packing for a child’s lunch.
- Refrigerate leftovers in a covered container and reheat in the oven or air fryer when desired.
Lunch & Meal Prep Tips
Keep the Filling Light: A thin layer of peanut butter and a modest piece of banana are enough. Overfilling can make the crescent dough difficult to roll and seal.
Prep Several at Once: Sara uses one can of crescent rolls with different fillings to prep multiple toddler lunches and snacks at the same time.
Cool Before Packing: Let the crescent roll-ups cool before placing them in a lunch container so trapped steam does not make the exterior overly soft.
Refrigerate Extras: Store extra baked roll-ups in a covered container in the refrigerator for easy lunches and snacks later in the week.
Reheat When Desired: Refrigerated roll-ups can be warmed in the oven or air fryer to help refresh the baked crescent exterior.
For Younger Children: Allow the roll-ups to cool completely and cut them into pieces appropriate for your child’s age and eating abilities before serving.
