- 1 tbsp honey

Healthy takeout comfort food that somehow feels indulgent

Step 1: Cook rice
Cook rice according to package directions if not already prepared.
Set aside.
Step 2: Brown turkey
Place a large skillet on medium-high heat.
Add:
- olive oil
Once warm add:
- ground turkey
Break turkey into small pieces using a spatula.
Cook 5–7 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Cook until:
- no pink remains
- turkey is lightly browned
Step 3: Add garlic
Add:
- garlic
Cook 30 seconds
Stir continuously so garlic doesn’t burn.
You’ll start smelling the garlic become fragrant.
Step 4: Make the sauce
In a small bowl combine:
- soy sauce
- honey
- sesame oil
- rice vinegar
- pepper
- ginger
Whisk together.
Step 5: Add vegetables
Add entire bag of coleslaw mix to skillet.
At first it will look like too much.
Keep stirring.
Within 2–3 minutes the cabbage softens significantly.
Cook:
4–5 minutes
The vegetables should become slightly tender but still have some crunch.
Step 6: Add sauce
Pour sauce evenly over the mixture.
Stir thoroughly.
Cook another 1–2 minutes.
Step 7: Assemble bowls
Divide rice among bowls.
Top with egg roll mixture.
Finish with:
- green onions
- crispy strips
- sesame seeds
- sriracha if desired
