The easiest, most flavorful slow cooker chili you’ll ever make! Packed with two types of beans, diced tomatoes, and a rich, smoky spice blend, this set-it-and-forget-it recipe is perfect for game day, busy weeknights, or cozy weekends. A secret ingredient—cocoa powder—adds incredible depth!
Ingredients:
- 2 lbs ground beef
- 1 large onion (finely chopped)
- 6 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1 15 oz can black beans (drained and rinsed)
- 1 15 oz can kidney beans (drained and rinsed)
- 1 28 oz can diced tomatoes (with juice)
- 1 10 oz can diced tomatoes with chilies (with juice)
- 1 29 oz can tomato sauce
- 2 tbsp tomato paste
- 2 tbsp smoked paprika
- 2 tbsp chili powder
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1 tbsp oregano
- 1 tsp cocoa powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp cayenne
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp liquid smoke

Directions
- In a large skillet over medium-high heat, brown ground beef with finely chopped onion and minced garlic. Drain most of the fat, leaving a small amount for flavor.
- Transfer the beef mixture to a slow cooker. Add black beans (drained and rinsed), kidney beans (drained and rinsed), diced tomatoes with juice, diced tomatoes with green chilies (with juice), tomato sauce, tomato paste, smoked paprika, chili powder, cumin, oregano, cocoa powder, salt, black pepper, cayenne, Worcestershire sauce, and liquid smoke. Stir everything together until well combined.
- Cover and cook on LOW for 6-7 hours or HIGH for 4-5 hours.
- Serve in big bowls with your favorite toppings: sour cream, shredded cheese, green onions, and tortilla chips. Enjoy!
