Directions

  1. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, brown ground beef with finely chopped onion and minced garlic. Drain most of the fat, leaving a small amount for flavor.
  2. Transfer the beef mixture to a slow cooker. Add black beans (drained and rinsed), kidney beans (drained and rinsed), diced tomatoes with juice, diced tomatoes with green chilies (with juice), tomato sauce, tomato paste, smoked paprika, chili powder, cumin, oregano, cocoa powder, salt, black pepper, cayenne, Worcestershire sauce, and liquid smoke. Stir everything together until well combined.
  3. Cover and cook on LOW for 6-7 hours or HIGH for 4-5 hours.
  4. Serve in big bowls with your favorite toppings: sour cream, shredded cheese, green onions, and tortilla chips. Enjoy!
