Cook Time: 1 Hour

These Smoked Baked Beans take a Southern cookout favorite to the next level with seasoned ground beef, peppers, onion, garlic, barbecue sauce, molasses, and brown sugar. Cooked low and slow until thick, smoky, and saucy, they are a hearty Southern side that can be prepared in a smoker or the oven.

Directions

  1. Preheat your smoker or oven to 400°F.
  2. Add the 3 POUNDS BAKED BEANS to a large baking or smoker-safe dish.
  3. Add the cooked, seasoned GROUND BEEF, diced BELL PEPPER, minced GARLIC, and diced ONION.
  4. Drizzle the KETCHUP, YELLOW MUSTARD, BARBECUE SAUCE, and MOLASSES over the beans.
  5. Sprinkle the BROWN SUGAR evenly over the mixture.
  6. Stir thoroughly until the beans, beef, vegetables, sauces, and brown sugar are evenly combined.
  7. Add your preferred SEASONINGS to taste. Taste the mixture and adjust the seasoning as needed.
  8. Transfer the beans to the smoker and cook at 400°F FOR 1 HOUR, allowing the sauce to thicken and the smoky flavor to develop.
  9. If you do not have a smoker, prepare the beans in the OVEN AT 400°F FOR 1 HOUR instead.
  10. Serve hot once the beans are thick, saucy, and deeply flavored.
