Slow Cook Time: 2 Hours

This Honey-Baked Ham layers a spiral-sliced ham with melted butter and honey before slow cooking it with pineapple. A warm Southern-inspired sugar and spice rub and a rich glaze made from the ham’s own cooking juices give it a sweet, savory finish that is perfect for holidays, Sunday dinner, or a Southern comfort food spread.

Directions

  1. Combine the MELTED BUTTER and HONEY, mixing until well blended.
  2. Place the SPIRAL-SLICED HAM on your work surface and pour the honey-butter mixture into the grooves between the slices.
  3. Spread the honey-butter mixture over the ham until the surface and spiral slices are thoroughly coated.
  4. Place the ham face-down in a slow cooker and add the PINEAPPLE.
  5. Cover and slow cook for 2 HOURS.
  6. Meanwhile, prepare the dry rub by combining the GRANULATED SUGAR, BAY LEAVES, SEASONED SALT, GROUND CINNAMON, NUTMEG, GROUND GINGER, GROUND CLOVES, PAPRIKA, ONION POWDER, and the PINCH OF SPICE.
  7. Once the ham has finished slow cooking, carefully transfer it from the slow cooker and reserve the flavorful HAM COOKING JUICES.
  8. Apply approximately half of the DRY RUB over the ham, working the mixture across the surface and between the spiral slices.
  9. Transfer the seasoned ham to the oven and cook until the sugar-and-spice coating begins to set and caramelize.
  10. To make the glaze, combine the remaining DRY RUB with some of the reserved HAM COOKING JUICES.
  11. Cook the glaze until it reduces into a thick, glossy sauce.
  12. Pour the finished GLAZE generously over the ham, allowing it to settle between the spiral slices.
  13. Return the glazed ham to the oven and cook for an additional 6 MINUTES to finish the caramelized glaze.
  14. Transfer the Honey-Baked Ham to a serving platter and spoon over additional glaze and pineapple if desired before serving.
