Family Favorite Pepper Steak

Tender strips of steak marinated in a savory-sweet sauce and wok-fried with crisp bell peppers and onions, creating a classic pepper steak that’s sure to become a family favorite.

Directions

  1. To a bowl, add soy sauce, rice vinegar, hoisin sauce, maggi jugo, honey, sesame oil, black pepper, chili flakes, garlic, and grated ginger. Mix well to combine.
  2. Add steak strips and coat thoroughly with the marinade.
  3. Cover and allow to marinate for at least 30 minutes or overnight.
  4. Add marinated steak to a wok over medium-high heat with oil.
  5. Cook for 2-3 minutes, then remove about 1 cup of the liquid the steak releases.
  6. Cook meat for 2-3 more minutes, then remove from wok.
  7. Add more oil to the pan and cook bell peppers and onion for about 5 minutes until slightly tender.
  8. Return meat to wok with vegetables, along with the reserved juice.
  9. Make a slurry with cornstarch and water, then add to the wok and stir to combine.
  10. Cook for 2-3 more minutes until the sauce thickens and coats everything evenly.
  11. Serve hot and enjoy!
