Directions

  1. Prepare your station: Lay a bamboo sushi mat or a piece of parchment paper on your work surface. Place one nori sheet shiny side down.
  2. Add rice: Wet your fingers and gently press about ¾ cup of rice evenly over the bottom two-thirds of the nori sheet. Leave the top inch bare.
  3. Layer taco fillings: In a horizontal line across the center of the rice, add a small strip of meat, cheese, avocado slices, tomatoes, and lettuce. Don’t overfill!
  4. Roll it up: Starting from the bottom, use your fingers to roll the nori sheet over the fillings, tucking as you go. Use a little water on the exposed edge to seal the roll.
  5. Slice: Let the roll sit for 2 minutes to seal fully. Using a sharp, damp knife, slice into 6–8 bite-sized pieces.
  6. Serve: Enjoy with a side of sour cream, guacamole, or salsa for dipping!
