These viral Chili’s-inspired cheesesticks deliver everything people love about restaurant mozzarella sticks: a crispy golden coating, gooey melted cheese, and an unforgettable cheese pull. Perfect for parties, game days, or whenever you’re craving comfort food.
Ingredients:
- 1 lb block mozzarella cheese
- Italian bread crumbs (for coating)
- oil (for frying)
For the Egg Wash
- 2 eggs
- 1/4 cup water
For the Flour Seasoning
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp salt

Directions
Prepare the Cheese
- Cut the mozzarella cheese into stick-shaped pieces approximately ½-inch thick.
Prepare the Coating
- Whisk together the eggs and water to create the egg wash.
- In a separate bowl combine the onion powder, garlic powder, black pepper, and salt.
- Dip each cheese stick into the seasoned coating, then the egg wash, then the Italian bread crumbs.
- Repeat the coating process a second time.
Freeze & Fry
- Arrange the coated cheesesticks on a baking sheet and freeze for 1 hour.
- Heat the oil to 350°F.
- Fry the cheesesticks for 4–5 minutes until golden brown.
- Serve immediately and enjoy the cheese pull.
