This mac and cheese is rich, creamy, and layered with smoky, savory flavor. With the perfect cheese pull and crispy golden top, it might just be the best you’ve ever had.

- Boil your favorite pasta until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- Shred your preferred mix of cheeses (like cheddar, Monterey jack, gouda). Reserve half for topping.
- In a small bowl, mix garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, and chicken bouillon powder.
- Melt butter in a pan over medium heat. Add half of the seasoning mix and cook for 2 minutes.
- Stir in flour to form a roux. Cook, stirring constantly, for 1–2 minutes.
- Gradually pour in evaporated milk and heavy cream. Whisk until smooth and slightly thickened.
- Stir in the remaining seasoning and a spoonful of Dijon mustard. Turn off the heat.
- While the mixture is still hot, add the reserved shredded cheese (saving some for topping). Stir until melted and velvety.
- Fold in the cooked pasta and mix to combine.
- In a greased baking dish, layer half the mac and cheese, sprinkle with half the remaining cheese, then add the rest and top with more cheese.
- Bake at 350°F for 25–30 minutes. Broil for 2–3 minutes at the end for a golden crust.
