Recreate the famous Din Tai Fung garlic green beans at home in just 15 minutes! These beans are blistered until tender-crisp and tossed in an incredibly savory garlic sauce for a restaurant-quality side dish.
Ingredients:
- 1 lb green beans (washed, dried, and ends trimmed)
- 2-3 cups vegetable oil
- 15 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp chicken boullion powder
Directions
- Heat the neutral oil in a wok over high heat until it reaches 350°F-375°F. The oil should cover about 1/2 inch of the bottom of the wok.
- Working in batches, add the washed, dried, and trimmed green beans and fry for about 30-45 seconds, or until the green beans start to wrinkle on the outside. Remove the green beans with a spider strainer and place on a paper towel-lined plate. Repeat until all the green beans are fried.
- Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in the wok over medium-high heat. Then add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds, until fragrant.
- Add the fried green beans, salt, and chicken bouillon powder and toss to combine for 1 minute.
- Transfer the green beans to a serving plate. Enjoy!
