This bright and flavorful one-pan shrimp and orzo dish is the perfect quick dinner when you want something elegant without the fuss. With lemon, white wine, and garlic bringing bold flavor, it’s a weeknight win that feels like a weekend indulgence.

  1. In a bowl, toss together the shrimp, salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  2. Preheat a pan over medium heat and add the oil.
  3. Once the oil is hot, add the shrimp and sear until all sides are colored, about 30 seconds per side. Remove and set aside.
  4. Add lemon slices to the pan and cook until seared on both sides. Set aside with the shrimp.
  5. To the same pan, add the onion and minced garlic. Cook over medium heat until fragrant. Stir in oregano.
  6. Add the orzo and toast, stirring often, for about 3 minutes or until lightly golden.
  7. Deglaze the pan with white wine, stirring until absorbed. Then add the chicken broth.
  8. Bring to a simmer, reduce heat to low, and cook uncovered for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the orzo absorbs most of the broth.
  9. Return the shrimp and lemon to the pan. Cook for 2 more minutes until warmed through.
  10. Season with more salt and pepper to taste and top with fresh basil. Enjoy!
