Shrimp Tempura Ramen
Are you ready to take your ramen game to a whole new level? This dish combines crispy air-fried shrimp and slurpy noodles coated in a rich, savory sesame-garlic sauce. It’s like your favorite takeout, but with a twist you can make right at home. Let’s dive in—chopsticks optional, but highly encouraged.
Ingredients
12 large shrimp, peeled and deveined
1 pack of ramen noodles (no seasoning packet)
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1 egg, beaten
2 tablespoons sesame oil
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
1 tablespoon rice vinegar
2 cloves garlic, minced
¼ cup panko breadcrumbs
1 teaspoon sesame seeds
Instructions
- Air Fry the Shrimp: Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C). Coat the shrimp in cornstarch, then dip them in the beaten egg, and roll them in panko breadcrumbs until evenly coated. Lightly spray with oil, then air fry for 8–10 minutes, flipping halfway, until crispy and golden.
- Prepare the Noodles: While the shrimp is cooking, boil the ramen noodles according to package instructions, then drain. In a pan over medium heat, heat the sesame oil and sauté the garlic until fragrant, about 1 minute. Add soy sauce, hoisin sauce, and rice vinegar, stirring to combine.
- Toss & Serve: Toss the cooked noodles in the sesame-garlic sauce until well coated. Serve the noodles topped with the crispy air-fried shrimp, and sprinkle with sesame seeds. Enjoy your next-level noodle night!
Pro Tips
- For extra crunch, add more panko breadcrumbs to your shrimp coating.
- If you’re feeling adventurous, toss in some veggies like bok choy or mushrooms for added flavor and texture!
- Swap out the ramen for soba or udon noodles to mix things up!
